Albatross D-Va

This is a 1/3 scale replica of a 1917 Albatross D-Va, it is painted in the colours of OBstv.Adolf

Schreder's Jasta 17 Aircraft and is owned and operated by Bernie Jones.

This was part built by Paul ‘Limey’ Rice in the later part of 2016/8 and finished by Bernie

in 2025 having been stored since 2019. It was built from an Arizona models scale kit, all

wood and ply construction, the fuselage is balsa covered and planked, then covered in

1/32" obechi veneers to match the full size.

The covering is solartex with authentic lozenge pattern, the rib tapes are solartex painted rose pink, all crosses and nomenclature are painted on, no vinyl decals on this. The flying wires are bicycle gear cables and 3 mm turnbuckles, the dummy engine is scratch

built and removable it also covers the working motor for very scale appearance.

This model has a DA 85 with custom mufler, all servos are Hitec HS-5685 MH digital

super torque, and it has Jeti radio installed.
